2000 WJ Fan Resistor Pack Location?
I have been reading the forum. I suspected bad heater/AC fan resistor Pack as my fan only works when set to maximum. I would like to inspect the resistor pack. Where is it located on a 2000 GC Limited? Also how is the AC/Heater control panel removed? Do you need to remove the upper and lower bezels to get to remove the control panel?

Old fart with a wrench
The resistor is located right next to the blower fan underneath the glove box. It's got a plug and 2 phillips screws holding it in. There is a fusible link on the side of it and if the solder is melted, you're drawing too many amps with the blower motor. Sometimes the plug itself is melted and needs to be replaced. It's a good idea to replace the blower motor at the same time so you don't toast another resistor. I know why mine blew. At very low temperatures, the blower bearings would rattle on anything but high. You need to remove the glove box for access. There are 4 phillips screws on the top after you open the glove box. Take them out and then pry the left and right bezels off their spring clips. Then you need to pry down the 2 stops so they clear the upper lip.
The upper and lower bezels around the heater control are mounted on clips and just need a thin pry tool to pop them off. The heater control is mounted with 4 phillips screws underneath the bezels.
