Default 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Tail Light problem

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The problem I am having is the driver side tail light will not work. All rear brake lights, signal lights, and reverse lights work just the driver side tail light will not come on. I changed the bulb, the socket, and even tried a new circuit board. None of them helped. Any Ideas??

I'm frustrated with it and afraid I'm going to get a ticket before long. It's my daily driver and can't park it cause it's all I've got. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to CF!

After all you've done, I would suggest trying another tail light assembly or tracing the circuits thru the plastic to see if there's a bad contact somewhere. The problem with these tail lights is they get hot and the contacts sink into the plastic and loose their tension. This is common if you sit in stalled traffic with your foot on the brake a lot.

You can check the bulb holder itself by swapping them around. All the bulbs and holders are the same and the difference is in the circuitry to them. In other words, the turn signal and reverse bulb holders and bulbs are the same as the tail/stop bulbs and holders. They are just powered to light the bright filament instead of both.

Luckily, I haven't had this problem yet because I live in a rural/suburban community and work nights so I'm not exposed to heavy traffic much.

BTW, I replaced my reverse light bulbs with Super Bright LED #3157-xHP28-T-CAR bulbs in natural white (4100K) 550 lumin bulbs at $25 each, but they light up the world!

I had this same issue with my blue jeep and the circuit board in the light was the issue.

I have purchased the circuit board and changed it and the bulb holder (socket) is new.. tried a couple new bulbs.. still nothing.. think being that everything on the passenger side works and even the brake light works on the driver side it could be a wire issue?? maybe with the hot wire coming to the tail light circuit on the driver side?? just thinking.. their isn't a separate fuse for these is there??

I don't believe so. I also had this issue with mine...brake light wouldn't light on the other side and the light was good, I ended up jumping off the other brake light, running the wire thru the bumper and tied it into the other that had power

Ive been into the light harness a few times. Installed flush mounted LED reverse lights into the bumper and made a tire carrier that i had to fabricate a plate holder and light for as well. This is my other jeep but still.

OH!!....Yeah, I forgot to ask if you have a trailer tow lighting harness on it! Those can cause problems.

I have a 1999 GCHEROKEE and have brake light problems but not all the time
I'm on my 3rd. fix-it ticket , sometimes i can just wack it with my hand and it works other times its the bulb (I CARRY 6 IN THE CONSOLE)
I've cleaned the bulb holder contacts and replaced a few . kinda tired of seeing those Red,White and Blue lights behind me.
BULB HOLDERS---TAIL LIGHT HOUSING---PLUG TO HOUSING ??????
Need some direction also.
