Default 2000 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 code p0132

Hello. Thank you for this forum.

I'm attempting to troubleshoot this p0132 o2 code. I bought this car for my daughter. CEL was on when I bought it.

-Checked the fuse, it's ok.

-Disconnected the battery 20 min. p0132 comes right back.

-Disconnected front and rear o2 sensors. key in "run", no 12vdc at any of the harness wires

Pulled fuse again. found 12vdc between fuse socket and POSITIVE bat term BUT NOT TO NEGATIVE TERMINAL.

Does that sound right?

Thanks in advance.

Could also use a wiring diagram.

Thanks.

It sounds to me like one of the 02 sensor heaters is internally shorted to the sensor output resulting in a high voltage sensor reading. A DRB scan tool that most good repair shops have should tell you which one it is and if this is true. The DRB is a great thing to have, but it costs around $1000!

Thank thank you for the thoughtful reply. I had the O2 sensors unplugged when I got that 12 volt reading from the positive terminal of the battery to the fuse connector. Thanks again.
