Default 1999WJ Intermediate Steering Shaft

Hello everyone, I need to replace my intermediate steering shaft on my 1999 WJ as the universal joints are shot. Is anyone aware of a difference between the 1999 and 2000-2004 WJ shafts? Dorman has a WJ replacement shaft but states it only fits 2000 (from 03/08/00) -2004 model Grand Cherokee's. They specifically state it doesn't fit 1999-2000 (up to 03/08/00) Grand Cherokees. I'm a little confused as my search also found used shafts available that call out they fit 1999-2004 WJs. I would prefer new but the Dorman one is the only one that I could find. (Dorman 425-293 Intermediate Steering Shaft). The superseded part number for the 1999-2000 is 05066597AA, the 2000-2004 is 52088253AG. The steering gear box seems to use the same part number for 99-04 WJ's, so that end of the shaft should be the same, so I thinking the difference must be on the the steering column/shaft connection. Does anybody know the difference between the two parts or suggestions on how to fix the issue? Thanks.
