HI,
I recently replaced the ignition switch in my 99 Cherokee Laredo.
Everything went well. It starts and runs fine.
QUESTION...
After I replaced the ignition switch back into the steering column, my power locks don't work right.
When I am moving the lock will automatically lock like before.
But the master lock switch on the drivers door doesn't lock them.
ALSO...the bell goes off when I open the door..as if the key were in the ignition. But it isn't in the ignition.
ANY HELP???
Thanks,
T

Old fart with a wrench
The only clue I have is it might need to be programed. I know my WJ has a chip in the keys and any new keys need to be programed before they will work. Mine is a 2000, so yours may be the same.

Thanks Dave. I rebuilt the cylinder myself. My old chipped keys work fine. The Jeep starts and works like before.Originally Posted by dave1123

With the exception of the bell thing and the master electric locks button not working.
Any other ideas??
