Default 1998 Grand Cherokee Transmission

I need to know for sure if a transmission from a different year will work in my 1998 Grand Cherokee. I have the 4.0 6 cylinder 4X4. I heard that the TCM for 1998 was a 1 year only model.
Thank you for your help
Thomas

That is definitely a question for the Grand Cherokee forum rather than the "regular" (XJ) Cherokee forum.

Thanks PatHenry, I didn't realize there was a Grand Cherokee forum.

Anytime brother - while there is a lot of cross-over if you have a GC with an I6, your issue seems like something that the GC forum folks might have better knowledge of.
