Default 1997 ZJ engine swap
I have the 4.0L 6 cyl engine in my rig now. Can I install a 5.9L V8?

it wont bolt up. you will have to replace the tranny and do a little chop shop to the engine mounts. along with move a few other components as well.

Seed - do all 8 cyl GC have the beefier 44 rear end? ? question remains, is it worth the effort to sway a 4.0 for a 4.7 / 8 cyl. motor?

With the exception of 93-95 5.2's,yes, all other V8 grands have the D44A rear.
