How to know the piston and rings are out in my jeep grand cherokee 4.7 v8

I HAVE a jeep grand cherokee and i want to know how to tell if the piston rings are going out on it or have already went out thanks eric

Is there a mysterious looking blue cloud that follows you around town, especially noticeable when you accelerate from a light or a stop sign?

Pull all the plugs and do a compression test with the throttle open, fuel pump fuse out.

Along with what has already been mentioned,loss of power,rough idle and plenty of blow-by.

Head gasket

Sounds like a bad head gasket in there possibly too...
