1996 zj still not shifting

Default 1996 zj still not shifting

1996 zj still not shifting, its stuck in limp home mode. i replaced both selonoids but they didn't solve the issue. I have 3 fault codes p0711 trans temp sen no temp rise after start, p0713 trans temp volt too high, p1763 governor pressure sensor high. thanks

Check the wiring. Could be a short in the harness inside or outside of the trans.

is there a write up on how to drop the valve body, because the wires are up underneath it, thanks

Probly a 42re trans. If i remeber right. Drop the pan. Disconnedt the shift linkage. Plug the level back 1 click past low. P R N D 2 1 +1 CLICK. Disconnect the valve body wiring. Unbolt the valve body.

send it to a professional i don't know how many transmissions i have to guess at putting back together because someone tried to do it there self. transmissions are a mystery if you don't know what youre doing.

I've rebuilt untold number of engines, but I've never attempted to or will ever, mess with a trans. Except to swap them out. I'd rather pay someone that knows what they're doing, and get it done correctly the first time.
When my '97 ZJ had trans issues I compared prices, then took it to the dealer. I got a new crate trans w/new convertor, w/a 3/36 warranty for $2,400. Other places wanted more with a 1 year warranty.
