I have a 95 Grand Cherokee and the front hubs will not disinguage.
I have the select track trans case. The light goes off and the unit does go into 2WD but i can still feel the front hubs are locked. I have tried backing up for a long distance,tire pressure is all good. Ant ideas?

 

You don't have locking hubs, the axle shafts and front drive shaft will always turn as the vehicle moves.

 

yes i konw this but the front wheel do chatter when turning some ware the front end is still locked up or it does not fully disenguage?

 

My 97 select trac does the same thing. Something in transfer case not releasing, Reverse usually works or just forget it and drive it, At some point mine releases. Mine has 170k on it, gotta expect that !!

 

umm no thanks need to get it fixed just do not know what the problem might be does any one have a helpful tip?

 

I had this happen when test driving the jeep that I now own and learned that you have to be moving at least a few mph to fully disengage
