This is going to sound like a dumb question. When I picked up this GC the front drive shaft was laying in the back seat. I rebuilt the shaft but the 6 8mm X 1.25 bolts to attach the CV joint end that were with it don't fit. I don't know if they are the wrong bolts or if the threads are just screwed up. Does anyone know what the correct size bolt is ?

wouldnt waste my time with the CV joint. swap it for a u joint style shaft. its almost guaranteed it will blow apart if you ever take it off road. ask me how i know.

Sure I will just whip out another few hundred $$ for a new drive shaft, diff coupler, U-joints, etc.. ESPECIALLY when I will probably be looking at $400 for a VC. Thanks for your so helpful suggestion. I don't want to use this for off road, My XJ would kick it's a$$ in that department anyway. Now, about those bolt sizes. I can't find them anywhere.

In order to get the right ones the first time, check with the dealer's parts dept. A good trick is to buy one and get the rest from an industrial supplier.
