Default 1994 jeep led lights.

I replaced all of my interior lights with led lights, i read how the power consumption is alot lower, plus the led doesnt give out alot of heat, but in the long run witch is better for the jeep itself, led or halogen? Thank you

definitely would not use halogen lights for interior lighting. they give off too much heat

I'd assume they're your typical incandescent bulbs. LED's will still be cooler, brighter, and last you longer.

The benefits of LEDs are obvious--they consume less power, generate less heat, and look awesome (well most of them). I converted my '98 and I love them, although sometimes I think they're even too bright!

I think the LEDs are still more efficient. That lady is putting out way too much heat.

Yeah she has nice halogens.

To the OP, I can't think of a reason why you wouldn't want to utilize LED lighting unless you find the ones you have are too dim. LEDs have come a long way. I noticed how hot those standard bulbs got when I was removing the headliner on my ZJ. I'm surprised they didn't melt the clear plastic covers. Even the 3rd brake light got really really hot. Finally smartened up and disconnected the battery--maybe not something you'd think to do for a simple headliner.

Not sure if the originals are incandescent or halogen. Typically when I think halogen I imagine headlights, but they do make them in smaller forms:

Where did y'all get your LED's? I have been looking online, but haven't really come up with anything good...

Look in my sig for my writeup on what I did, if you're interested--I have the part numbers/links in there from SuperBrightLEDs.com. The problem I have is that there are SO many more options with LEDs, it's really hard to determine what's going to be the best. Some are dim, some are obnoxiously bright (like mine).

I haven't done my map lights yet, but they're on the list once I figure out what I need. There's another big thread regarding interior LEDs and also for the instrument cluster, but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

IMHO, I think those interior lights are WAY too bright. How long do you have to wait to get your night vision back?

Well, depending on how dark the surroundings are, I can definitely feel it in my eyes, lol. I'm considering selling the footwell lights or repurposing them (maybe in my car), and going a different route.

Maybe just put a variable resistor in the circuit to control them.

I've heard of this, and want to read up more on it. My car, when I shut the door, it "dims" the lights off. I'd love to retain that feature for the coolness factor. I think I might be able to with one of those resistors.
