noticed a coolant leak coming from the front of the motor 5 days ago.when i got to work. rad was low about an inch or so. refilled it before i left. got home all was good, next day same leak. bought a new water pump. i have had to drive the jeep everyday. the last 2 days no leak and coolant levels good. when a water pump is going bad will it leak then quit.

 

It can, but then totally fail at the most inopportune time.

 

thanks for the info. wanted to make sure before i go to all the work of replacing something that didnt need to be and should be looking elsewhere for the prolbem
