This is my Dad's 08 GC 3.7 AWD
autozone ran the codes for him came up output speed sensor bad, $270 part I can't find sensor anywhere is it in the transmission? For other year models it's a 20 dollar part and is on the drive side rear of the trans.

IDK about the 08, but you're right about the 99-04 models. It's right where you say it is. It reads a tone wheel on the rear clutch drum inside. Actually I think it's the park lock gear wheel. Whatever!
For $7.99+ tax you can download a Full Service Manual for your 08 from pacificcoastmanuals.com The FSM for my 2000 has about 140 pages just on the transmission. This manual is 93mbs of compressed pdf files and you can print out only what you need for the job, get them greasy, then throw they away if you want. On the original download, they give you an index key to the sections. DON'T LOSE THAT! It's not available later. Okay, yes it is. Down at the bottom of the list of files.
