04 WJ STOCK Cherokee wobbling/vibrations between 55 & 70 mph??
Hola to one and all,
I am new to the forums and I hope I could get some great advice from knowledgeable people... This is our first 4X4, and I'm new to this platform.
Here is the prob, I just bought an 04 Cherokee Laredo 4X4 for the Mrs. When we are driving as soon as we hit 50+ mph, there is a strong vibration that seems to shake the front end when increasing speed. BUT when I let off of the throttle the shake disappears, BUT as soon as I push back on the throttle to maintain speed or increase speed... the shake/vibrations return, its pretty strong shake...
I just got the front tires balanced and got an alignment and this did not remedy the prob. My neighbor (who is a alignment front suspension guru) has told me that it might be the trac bar bushing because they are kinda worn out, and the pivot outer tie rod & the outer tie rod to the knuckle.
But... Wouldn't this be a drive train issue? not a suspension issue due to the vibration going away during decreases speeds? If it WAS a suspension issue, wouldn't the vibration remain irregardless of the speeds?
Can anyone confirm or chime in on this please...
-Thanks to all who read/chime in.

Sounds like a mild "death wobble" to me. Do a search on that. No definitive answer or cause on it but lots of jeeps do it. Definitely replace worn or even suspect front end components.
