Default 01 Limited, will my jeep be ok if i pull these?

Hey all, please excuse my newbness, BUT, my jeeps airbag light came on tday, and well, i love my jeep, really i do, i know there's a recall for the airbag fix, and my girl is going in on Thursday 7:30am for that, BUT in the mean time, i only have one vehicle to drive, and my daughter needs to get to school plus the running i have to get done for work and farm, i need my car, now with all that said, if i were to pull out the airbag fuses (not sure what panel they are in yet, im searching that info) will that disable the airbag so it cannot go off, but my veh will still function? I dont want to take em out if its going to mess something up, but i need my car, and cant have it down till its fixed. Thanks in advance for the info and just an fyi, im not a mechanic, but if i have to figure it out, then i will, granted most men wont let me fix my car, im not shy about trying!

Does the horn work? The Airbag light being on is a symptom of a bad clockspring. You can find them used for around $50 or brand new for $90+

The airbag light just indicates a fault with the system, not imminent detonation. However if it goes you'll be the first one to know it, so keep your hands at 10 & 2.

That will work too the problem is when people try to "palm" the steering wheel with one hand @ 6 o'clock. The bag goes & takes the skin right off the back of the hand, ouchie!

That's not as bad as the brush burns on your face.

My brother decided to run a car in a demolition derby. He had to take out the airbags in order to run, which he did, but forgot the inflation charges. He wound up with pretty sever burns from it.

I wouldn't recommend pulling the fuses. There are many things that can cause the air bag light to come on. It doesn't mean they are going to go off on you. A faulty clock spring, passenger seat weight sensor, failed pretensioner in the buckle and a whole list of things will cause the light and still allow the drivers air bag to function as designed in a accident. You want it to work if you need it. Just get it checked out as soon as you can.
