So the most recent project involved replaceing the valve gasket, noit as straight forward as i imagined. Broke the CCV hose (i think thats what it is) and found my t-case is leaking but no idea from where and why. I have some pics of the gasket replacement and the t-case leak. any help with identifing the issue and a fix would be greatly apreciated.

All clean

Broke the back hose, is that the CCV?

In the rear yes, my lift sagged due to POS add-a-leaf to only 2" I also did some fender triming so the rub aint to bad. If you did more fender triming it'd fit fine.

I also found out what hose i broke and the system it is part of. It is a CCV(closed crankcase ventalation) not a PCV (positive crankcase ventalation.) It control idle, the difference between the two is the PCV is a vacum. Most part store have it miss labeled, so if anyone that reads this thread happens to break it, shoot yourself because it is a PIA to replace. But ask for a rear PVC "breather" hose, right angle, and the ruber washer like thing around the valve cover. You will need all of it.

Sweet build man! I'm loving it.. Jeep looks sick.

I saw the tow hooks, where and how did you mount them?

FWIW not all the higher models came with them, they were still an option. I have a limited that did not come with tow hooks.

C4x4, IRO, Rusty's, and others all sell tow hook mounts for the XJ.

I bought mine at pepboys for 10 a peice. Mine is a limited but had no off-road OEM goodies. If you look closely in the pic as to where i mounted the hooks you will so a hole in the plastics on the bumper. Inside there you can bolt a tow hook to the bracket that runs from the "frame" to the bumper. I used it a few times with some deceint jerking, it held up fine.
And thanks for the compliment!

Default Making my own "hide-a-hitch"

I decided that I didn't like how low my trailer hitch was hanging so it was time to break out the tools. Needed to notch and cut, wasn't fun but i think well worth it. I went from it being low and ungly (refer to begining of thread) to higher and neater.

No offense man, but you're in college and you still don't know how to use capital letters?

It never ends, I'm out of college and and engineer, and I'm still practically living on a high school budget.

On the 1st page of the thread i posted a pic with the hitch on. It sat about 3" under my rear bumper as compared to almost right up against it. But thanks for your honesty! Here is the old pic and the new pic together, hopefully you will see the difference now. if not I wont be offended.
