Frame stiffners installed! Can tell a big difference in just driving around town and to work today on the interstate. Lots of grinding... The undercoating goes everywhere and grinding down all the welds takes forever. The drivers side isn't as pretty because I broke my last light bulb and just decided to quit for the night and paint it. Took me a while to do since I had to remove the sliders, trim each one to fit my Clayton long arm crossmember, the welds around it, fill in every plug weld, then stitch most of it.

This is after I blew a lot of it out in the driveway from my nasty old garage.

Also spent a lot of money today for a big weekend project...

Lol I came inside and looked black. If you ever install these, remove the undercoating outside. Mine would fall off if it was all heated up, but a flap disc worked just as well.

I got HD off-road, has a ton of plug welds which was nice and also a paint to fill in. I used my big floor jack and wooden blocks to bend them to fit the unibody like it should after tacking it in places.

I had a lot of noises coming from where I cut off my short arm brackets when I was at gulches. I contribute that to the fact I was constantly flexing over everything there and that driving on the main road was like the Oregon trail. So is the road Lowrange2 lives off of, freaking rough.

How long it took you? I installed the very same stiffeners yesterday and it took me 6 hours from start to finish.

About the same, maybe a little longer. I had to remove my sliders and relocate my rock lights. Plus i ran out of welding wire... again... Had to run to Tractor supply. Used up a lot of my welding gas since i've had the hook up here at my house. I'll probably buy the front ones and do those before next summer/ in the springtime.

Order the wire from htp America on eBay. They go high quality precision wound spools. I usually buy two of 10 lbs spools for 35 bucks shipped.
They perform just same as Lincoln L56 wires but cheaper.

I really need to i guess.

Here are the plans for the winter:
Axle swap
Lock the rear
35's
Relocate gas tank/ shock hoop set up
Rear bumper with tire carrier build
Rocker slider build
Replace cracked header
Valve cover

I could probably use a bigger tranny cooler and toss this one over for Power steering. I also need to do the WJ brake booster swap for the 35's soon... I have the WJ swap parts ready to go except for a few things. Hoping to grab them up over a X mas sale from Ruffstuff. Dan is running a 25% off sale till the 1st on steering and other builder parts but i just cant spend the money right now.

I still need Lower ball joints, steering, and track bar pieces.

Hmmm, I'll read up on it. I still have the booster and MC from the 98 I intended on using but figure go ahead and step up even more. Would also be free, so that's a plus

Its got a .125 larger bore I belive and is bolt wit 0 mods other than bending a brake line into the right spot. I'd say its worth it to upgrade if your gonna have it apart any ways
