Seal done in like 40 min cause I helped.
Holy crap there is a lot of backlash in that axle... Pinion moves a ton.
Have to open it up and either swap in a new one or rebuild this one with some gearz.

The pinion moves a TON. Not within the .06-.11? It should.
Needs shims with the carrier or with the pinion but I won't know till I open it and run contact marker on it.
Hoping I can get by with shimming it back together opposed to rebuilding or another swap

Front axle I'm assuming? Run it until it blows.

Yep up front.
Don't want to grenade the front with a locker and chromos at risk and being 3-4 hours from home. It'll eat the teeth off the gear set

.1 is a 1/10 of an inch. It'd blow up in about ten minutes if it were that bad.

I bet you'd like to have this right about now...
Of course, you'd have to bolt 4.56's in the rear but other than that... you'd be good to go.
I still haven't put it back in the Jeep yet.

Had a great time at Gulches this weekend. Found a new favorite park, other than the fact its 4 hours away... I ran TNT, Palmetto Crossing, Death Valley, Heartbreaker, Radical ravine, Mutiny revenge, Rebel Blvd, 17, played on pipes, random rock gardens, and tried to go up shipwreck but we had a big line to get down there and then had to winch people over the rocks at the bottom. I could have gotten lined up to it, but that would have taken forever and we were all ready to go ride somewhere else. Night ride was fun, Skip lead our group and we went down trails backwards, went on random ones he didnt have listed, did some more mild hill climbs.

Waiting on everyone else to upload pics since i dont have any of myself... Death valley pics and if anyone got some of me on TNT should be pretty cool. Waiting for one shot in particular i think should be pretty neat. I walked just about everything out there, had the most trouble on TNT getting up the undercut of a rock with my passenger rear tire and being open in the rear just made me stop as soon as i hit it. Got some speed and heated up the KM2's a little and hopped right up. The XJ did great all over that park not skipping a beat. The front locker was awesome and i feel like the weight balance i have did really well climbing everything out there.
If Lowrange will get his stupid gold one moving we can go out for a weekend again...

Split up into Easy, medium, and hard like we always do. I rode with the medium group and we always seem to go intermediate to intermediate-hard. I had a blast and didnt think anything out there was too bad that we did, the bottom of heart breaker was fun.
Had a scavenger hunt on saturday for a bunch of parts spray painted different colors, i rode around with a buddy and grabbed some stuff but we didnt win anything. Had a raffle saturday night, spent $40 and won nothing lol.
They had some SWEET deals with that raffle:
Buy 2 get two Raceline wheels free, any of them
Same thing for Fuel wheels
Same things for another brand of wheels
Set of 4 35x12.5x17 Toyo MT's
$100 to Artec
$250 to ZONE
$250 to BDS
$400 at a couple brand at Allsouth
Ruffstuff 44 cover
Ruffstuff 60 cover
Optima red top
Bunch of JK builder parts and some for the TJ crowd.
Tickets were $1 a piece and of course i couldnt compete with the guys who spent $100-$250 on tickets...
Got like 4-5 free t shirts though so i guess i came out all right.
Had two guys flop rather gracefully, JKU that lost reverse, broken windows, and a couple of other small things but had a great time.

Waiting on a labor quote right now...
Also going to be looking a bumper builds again. I like the JCR DIY kit but even that is still pricy.
