Rough Country sent me a new set of four shocks and I got them swapped in today. It's back to driving like new again!
While I was at it, I did the 703 injector install. So far I don't see a "more responsive throttle" so we'll see how it goes with more driving. In addition, a new budget has been approved and over the next six months we should see some armor, control arms, and lights added to *****.
The power door locks quit working some time ago. I originally thought it was the switch module since they are prone to failure, but upon further diagnosis I found the fuse kept blowing. Turns out the wire bundle under the rear seats rubbed through the insulation on a bolt holding the ZJ seat bracket thus causing a short. So, I repaired the wire bundle and put RTV on the bolt ends (I don't plan to ever pull the bolts out), adjusted the bundle route, and replaced the fuse. All is well now! It's nice to have power locks again for the keyless entry.
X2. Ive been eyeing the flats for a while now. Rig looks good.
Thanks. Interestingly I'm liking the cutouts more now that I've had the flats. Snow and mud build up on the front side of the rears so passengers get wet/muddy getting in and out of the back seat. I don't care much for that and the cutouts don't have that problem.

Well its good I don't have any back seats! Ha, only the dogs get in and out of the back doors. Sounds like flats are for me!
Ever since I bought this XJ in 2011, my CEL would come on only when I'm engine braking in 4Lo at high elevation. It would turn off by the time I'd get home or the next day. I finally found out it throws a P0107 code which is MAP sensor low voltage. There's never been any noticeable impact when it's triggered.
I've finally found the problem which is just a bug in the PCM that lights the CEL under those conditions. Looks like I'll need to make a trip to the dealer to get the flash update applied.

Dude. You are awesome. I took a weekend trip about 2 weeks ago and the very same happened to me right after a bunch of long steep grades. It cost me 3 hours out of my way to get it figured out and find an open store to run the code and what not.
I got the tierods and all four control arms replaced. I couldn't get the axle-end bushings removed with a balljoint press so I purchased an air hammer which then became a quick job. The alignment is scheduled for tomorrow at Firestone (lifetime alignment so this will be free).
