Love this thread, basically what I was planning on doing when I get back home.
How are the tires in summer for traveling on the highway/city streets? And about what do you get for mileage? I have 31 inch tires on the Icon wheels so I think they are skinnier than yours. I was normally getting about 17-18 with my Auto. (wish she was a manual)

Scored an OHC from a Caravan yesterday at the junkyard. I'm planning to mount a CB in it so I'm looking for a compact ,
, or
. Right now I'm leaning towards the
so I can have weather information. I also plan to get a 3' Firestick for it as well. I'd like to get/make a mount like https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f11/xj-cb-antenna-mounts-67191/, but it seems that source became unreliable and I'm not much of a metal fabricator.

Great thread Jon. Your Jeep looks great!
All your pictures make miss Colorado, I grew up in Co Springs and spent many days (weeks) in the mountians, backpacking, hunting, fishing, and four wheeling with my Dad and brothers.
Nice to see someone else with a clean Jeep and moderate lift/tire set up as well.

This is one of my favorite build of all time. Your Cherokee is exactly where i want mine to end up....capable but not crazy.

Got the CB installed along with the OHC from a Caravan. The grey liner is slightly off, but close enough for me given it was $18.
The CB also has a PA feature and I mounted a speaker in my front bumper - there are definitely a few practical uses for it and loads of impractical uses. Now I just need to finish my antenna mounting bracket.
