No problem. I really like these wheels. Ion alloy should mean no rust and they were pretty cheap

Went to the junkyard this morning. Picked up some pieces i was missing from my roof rails. I looked for a transfer case skid but didn't find one.

I did see a couple cool things though.
There was a right hand drive jeep wrangler, maybe used for the postal service? IDK

And there was a Jeep Cherokee with the Infinity Speaker System( amp still worked) and an overhead console

I have been creating a to do list for my XJ

Get a high lift
Full size spare
Front end recovery points
Maybe a custom bumper

I'm practically broke right now, but I want to get this stuff done.

Ordered front bumper brackets and weld through d ring mounts from nates 4x4. I'm gonna build me a bumper! It's gonna be something like this

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/cu...bumper-144819/

I'm going to make it out of either 2x4,2x5, or 2x6 tubing. It'll be 1/4 inch thick with a 2" reciever and possibly a pre runner.

I'm not sure if I will use my dad's mig welder or the stick welder.

All my Nates 4x4 parts came in. Just need to get rectangular tubing. Now I think I want to use 2x5x3/16.

Nates 4x4, JCR, and almost every company makes their bumpers out of 3/16 metal, so I think that'll be thick enough

This is going to be my first real welding project.
How do they look?

Not to shabby. Butt two plates together and weld them and if you have a press put them in the press and see if the steel bends before the weld breaks.

I need to go buy rectangular tubing. I'm afraid of how much it's gonna cost

My dad called around and found an 8ft piece of steel tubing(2x6x3/16). He's gonna pick it up tomorrow. Hopefully the bumper build will start this weekend!
