still havent swapped intakes or rebuilt the exhaust but i did build a simple bumper, added some more length to the rear bump stops, and went wheeling with the chick a few days ago

bumper brackets are from the flop shop, tubing is 1.75 .120 wall DOM that mic'd out at .140ish. eventually ill be adding a hidden winch mount and recovery points

thank you. the intake doesnt actually sit like that though. i just rotated it out of the way while plumbing brakes/steering lines. the elbow is from a stock air box

oh gotcha. the renix ones are alot different. have you thought about swapping to a later model intake and tb? pick up a couple ponies and would make it a lot easier to build a cowl intake from there. or if you weld, then you can use the metal triangular part to build off of.


which reminds me, i picked up a 63mm bored tb from Jeff Leigh and some stroker stickers! i was going to hold off on installing it till i was ready to swap intakes, but i had to send my old one back as a core so i put it on last night. i wouldnt say the seat-of-the-pants-dyno felt much but man did it help free up the top end. the motor used to fall on its face around 4k ish (not sure cause my tach doesnt work) but now it revs to the moon! haha cant wait to swap manifolds and see more improvement

just about finished up my new exhaust and intake swap. got the wrong gasket or it would have been put together today. apparently, whoever built this motor used a renix block and a HO head.. anyways, exhaust is now entirely 2.5" form the collector back. i kept it up high and tight around the trans and crossmember, and after that its just above the bottom of the "frame". flex pipe added to prevent the header from cracking, again. (the PO wrapped it...) i brazed the cracks the best i could and coated it with black VHT. flowmaster super 44 replaced the TINY cherry bomb i had before lol stole the idea for the bed exit from a member on comanche club. intake has been gasket matched, injectors cleaned, new pintle caps and orings installed, bolted the 63mm tb on and capped off the ports in not using. hopefully ill get the right gasket tomorrow and have it all back together.

got the intake swap finished up and put a few hundred miles on the ol jeep. definitely woke it up some! especially on the top end. the motor would fall on its face before, but now it pulls to the redline. im gonna guess fixing the exhaust leaks helped out to. i ditched the ac/fan/idler pulley mount after i got the intake on since i wasnt using any of it. took 6 tries to get the right belt though! relocated the IAT sensor as well and i also added a flange between the muffler and flex pipe to make the exhaust system easier to remove in the future.











pulled the doors off for two reasons. number one being its summer time in az and i got no a/c! haha and secondly i plan on starting my cage build soon

been a while, havent done any wheeling lately, so i ripped out the interior and sawzall!













took 16 inches out of the "frame" and cut the end of the bed off. im for sure bobbing it but may also dovetail, we'll see. last night i got the new rear crossmember and shackle hangers tacked and partially welded but didnt get pics, will tonight though

Well, that escalated quickly. Put the sawz-all down and take two steps back.
