apparently i like working on jeeps more than wheeling...
im taking everything from the "brodozer" https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/de...odozer-223616/ and its going in here http://comancheclub.com/topic/48876-wheels-89-manche/ Attachment 307981 pics will do most of the talking motor out of mj Attachment 307982 Attachment 307983 insert stroker and ax15, courtesy of Budweiser, Attachment 307984 Attachment 307985 Attachment 307986 wired up, header panel back on, fin! Attachment 307987 Attachment 307988 floor debacle Attachment 307989 tcase in Attachment 307990 axle almost all tacked up (i re positioned the trac bar mount from the first pic) Attachment 307991 Attachment 307992 Attachment 307993 Attachment 307994 Attachment 307995 Attachment 307996 for the drivers side, since the tube is so short (89 kp d60) im electing to do this. a buddy of mine will weld the casting ot the tube with nickel rod when its all said and done Attachment 307997 it will look like this when finished Attachment 307998 this is when my phone broke, it was on its last leg anyway, so i dont have anymore pics but im going to use the xj tank in the mj. it will eventually sit in the bed in an enclosure, but for now the bed is off and im building a mount for the tank. i pulled the rear d60 from the xj and cut all the old mounts off, need to finish up the interior wiring, floor/tunnel obviously, tack up drivers side of the frnt axle, set it under the truck so i can measure for and build links... the list goes on but i feel like it should come together pretty quickly now. hope to have a new phone soon so i can get more pics enjoy  |

went on vacation for the 4th, blew the tranny up in our durango, and we're moving this month so progress will likely be slow...
but here's how it sits now. decided to use the xj tank. ill build mounts for it to sit in the bed. fuel system is plumbed and all electrical besides the rear tails is done. now that i found my keys, i can start it up too lol Attachment 307768 Attachment 307769 Attachment 307770 Attachment 307771 looks like a tractor lol gonna just sandwich the rear mounts on for now so i can roll it onto a trailer to move it |

wanted to get an idea of how itll eventually look before i roll it into the garage
Attachment 307024 classy instagram pic Attachment 307025 LOTS of trimming to do lol unfortunately, the motor in my daily (96 xj ugly betty) clapped out on me when scouting for deer last week... so I'm temporarily robbing the motor/trans/tcase from the mj till i get my other one rebuilt |

not much of an update, again (sorry to disappoint) but now that ive got more free time and my daily is back on the road, the ol mache should be getting more attention.
got back to work on my kingpin dana 60. i had a swamp cooler running in my garage all summer and didnt oil everything or cover it very well, hence the surface rust. but everything is tacked on. now to get it under the jeep and measure for links. I'm thinkin the upper link mount is going to be moved more passenger Attachment 306264 Attachment 306265 Attachment 306266 playing around with the camera on my phone Attachment 306267 |

Picked up some square tube. Got more than I need cause I'm going to redesign my welding table as well
Attachment 306234 Also I think I'm goin to use these spacers on the spring pads as they will alow the spring to sit "flat" without have to grind the spring or modify anything else. Gonna weld tabs or a ring on the Mount to keep them centered. These along with rubicom express 5.5" coils and the larger axle tube ill be around 6.5-7" of lift. Ignore the short drag link, i was just playing around Attachment 306235 Attachment 306236 Attachment 306237 Got to work on the floor pan a bit too Attachment 306238 Attachment 306239 That diamond plate was riveted to the angle iron that's just tacked in there... then silicon was used to try and seal it all up. Messy job |

not much to report, but progress is progress right?
header panel off for the eleventymillionth time along with the front bumper. flares removed for good. i traced the outer edge before removing them. this will be the preliminary cut, then ill trim accordingly Attachment 305975 Attachment 305976 Attachment 305977 Attachment 305978 passenger floorboard. there was a piece of diamond plate riveted here, and after removing it i found these gobs of caulking.... hope they arent hiding rust! rest of the floor looks good though Attachment 305979 Attachment 305980 Attachment 305981 Attachment 305982 |

thankfully all that caulking wasnt hiding any rust on the pass floorboard, but im still going to cut out a pocket for the 3rd link to fit in, then box around it

Attachment 305853 not jeep related, but built a new exhaust for my brothers rx7 drift car. tail pipes stick a good foot and a half out form the rear of the car Attachment 305854 Attachment 305855 Attachment 305856 |

Awesome build, I want to build a three link similar to yours as soon as I get some time, how come you are going to have to notch the floor if the Clayton normally doesn't? Is it because you moved it to the pass side or is the upper link mount higher on your setup?

i think its just because my mount is higher and im using 1.25" rod ends not johnny joints the clayton kit uses. i could be wrong, but i believe the rod ends are slightly larger in diameter than the jj's. also not sure if the mj floors differ in that area much from the xj. i could probably get away with "massaging" the floor, but since ill have 9" vertical separation at the axle end, and about 5" at the crossmeber, all on about 6.5" of lift, i want the link to have room for up travel. pictures will explain it better, but basically from just in front of the seat mounts and just inside the "frame" channel over to the trans tunnel, im going to raise the floor 1-1.5" all the way to the fire wall. my exhaust is also going to be moved closer to the trans/tcase so this will help stuff it out of the way |
thanks! REALLY hoping to get it done for a new years run. the gf doesnt know it yet but im planning on popping the question, on the trail, in the jeep lol shes helped me a fair amount with this and my other projects
