V8 Swap
It's been a while since I posted any updates. Here are some pics of the 4.8 in the jeep. going slow do to the helper, but were moving along.
Plan on cutting the hood to see how much the intake protrudes above hood. I can then decide the height of the cowl needed. Still think I can lower the mount an inch or more. Will need a 4" lift for sure. It is a clean install.

I has been awhile no thanks to my helper, he's been involved in other projects and is not that reachable if you know what I mean.
Photos are of the 89 wagoner front differential I purchased locally, for $200.. It's a Danna 44 and is within a 1/2" of the Jeep Diff. I then bought the truss with the xj mounting points. He has had it for several months and finally welded it to the diff..
The rim is a FJ 17" 6 lug needed for the wagoner hub. Found 5 of them for $300. like new. They clear the calipers easily.
We plan on mounting the differential to check the clearance needed, for engine. I can then decide on the lift needed along with the tire dimensions.
Last week I found a xj radiator already set up for a chevy V8 for a $100., had it checked out and it's 1st class.
He has all the big parts includ. 4L60 TRANS ,88 GMC transfer case 98 8.8 ford rear end. but getting him going on it is another subject.
Note the weld he is good.

Nor Cal, If you say so, it must be true. But I'm one of those types, {you don't have it done yet}, not a real patient individual. I do understand though. Thanks for the support, and staying in touch.

Garvin it must be the picture, I had a friend with me when we examined it and the weld did look good.
