Awesome! How are those PAC springs performing? I might replace my RE's for them. Not that I need to, but just because.

Did I miss something where you already had your front HPD30 re-geared to 4.56 to match the rear? Or didn't you need 4wd for any of that?

PAC springs are still in the mail. I am hopping they get in this week. Right now I am still running Old Man Emu coils which ride great on road but are way to soft off road. I think the 4" 200 spring rate PACs will be a perfect fit.

Oh, gotcha. I've only dealt with progessive springs once with my old Subaru and it was kind of life changing. Looking forward to seeing you get those and see how they actually measure up.

Good catch. I had the front hp dirty30 regeared last Friday. I had them drop in the detroit true track I pulled out of the old axle. The true track is about as usfull as an open diff in the rocks.

Ever try tapping the brake? Heard that helps a lot with the truetrac.

Good call on the brakes I haven't tried that. It might be challenging with the manual to run the sinny peddle, feather the clutch and ride the brake. I don't think my third leg is quite long enought. I was thinking about getting a hand throttle.

You can get damn good with the heel toe method. I got to the point I can hold my brake, while applying throttle, and let the clutch out to spool my turbo in my VW for a no lag launch. I do it daily to do a roll into 1st coming up to stops.

Part of me wishes I got a 5 speed Cherokee.

Anyways I like your jeep/build, I've been lurking from a far

An example I found.

Sick video, my footwork is not as solid as that guy. I do love my 5 speed but it adds another dynamic in the rocks.

I am already running an advanced adapters SYE. I would really like to run the wider 1.25" t case chain and beefier 6 gear planetary found in Chevy and Dodge NP 231s but I don't want to drop the $$$ into that right now.

That's just internet forum talk. Sure, XJ chains can stretch. Sure the Chevy/Dodge chain is stronger...but realistically it's still an NP231. A stock 4.0L is more likely going to snap front D30 axle shafts with 35's than you stretching your t-case chain. I didn't say it can't happen...just that it's more likely you damage the D30 first before the XJ t-case. My wife's 4.7L stroker has about 120-125lb-ft more torque than a brand new 4.0L and she beats the **** out of it in 4LOW on the rocks with 37's and I sure as hell don't treat it very nice when I'm playing in snowy weather with 33's in 4HI. The NP231J can certainly handle some abuse. If you end up needing a new t-case because of strength issues, look to something else. NV241OR would be a good choice, as would an Atlas. Both will cost big $$$ so look at it as an investment to save your clutch (deeper 4LOW gear like a 4:1, 4.3:1, 5:1...ect). Imagine being able to crawl up most obstacles in 2nd gear and when you really want torque you start in 1st.

I wouldn't go the doubler router in an XJ...wheel base is too short unless you stretch it...which I can't see you doing for a DD.

When my wife cracks her t-case, we'll probably be going to the NV241OR.
