Found some used 31 Mts on rock crawlers.
Yes they rub with no lift, so I fixed that; just couldn't go back to the stock rims and tires. I ordered a 3" RC lift, but for the mean time did some fender trimming.

Now that the excitement of the new tires is wearing off, back to the rack. I made the "legs" for the gutter mounts, and finally sandblasted and ready for primer.

Howdy,
been a while since i been here, (overseas ya know). Anyway wanted to comment on the fabrication of the roof rack. WELL DONE! just quick question, what'd your materials cost ya? is it anodized or steel components? That is one project I will do, after I throw a new motor/tranny/transfer/rear end/suspension/interior/ and paint.
also, if anyone knows of good paint supply, been tryin net and things are too vague. I have 20 days over xmas and wanna re-paint my old baby. she got 260 thousand on same motor, and just thinking of dropping a re-built one in and re-building the original....lots of stuff to do, but I really need to get her painted. sooooo, anyone knowing good links for paint supply let me know..tried eastwood PPG and dupont sites but they are providing with what I am lookin for....i.e. good primer/body filler/ acrylic clear coat finishes in qty i would need. anyone know? (sorry for the ramblin) thanks!

cpn;
I wound up with more in it than I expected, probably around $300.00 I primed it with "Omni" 2 part black epoxy primer, Omni is a cheap off shoot of PPG.
If I had it to do again, I would probably go the EMT conduit route as many on here did...as long as it will hold a spare tire.

The lift will be two phases. First just a 1.75" lift with rear shackles and front isolators; kit from these guys:

Later I'll get adj. lower controls, and track bar for the 3" RC which is still on order.

Holy Squats Batman!!
We did the rear, and it sits level! Change of plans, I'll skip the front isolators and add 3" to the front with the RC kit and 3" more to the rear with the AAL, until I can spring for some new leafs.
