Default Slowish 1989 XJ Build

I bought this jeep about 3 months ago. It came painted like a freaking zebra but the internals were flawless. So I pulled the trigger, Well here it goes.

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-l4tauqp.jpg

That is the day I bought it, the passenger side was completely finished he just didn't paint this side.

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-urwcp70.jpg

Hours of paint stripping were to follow. My Dad and I do everything at home in our front yard, sometimes under our Costco carports, but usually on the dirt.

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-ttuyfjk.jpg

The very next day of finishing the paint.

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-s5gjplm.jpg

I wasn't keen on putting 17s on my Xj but i already had these tires and rims, that were off of my dad's 2005 dodge 1500, he converted it to a work truck so we took the fun tires off and I bought him some economy tires.

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-ndl5gid.jpg

Added some 8 inch HID lights on the front bumper not permanent as I had plans to upgrade bumpers. You know what us enthusiasts say, when you replace you upgrade.

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-05wzciv.jpg

Wanted to do a theme so I'm doing blue and white so Undercarriage and coils went blue. As well as rings around my HIDS.

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-liqljv0.jpg

BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD. I can't let you know what's in them. (also do not mind the crappy cb mounts, they are changing very soon.)

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-gxrhv9j.jpg

Waiting on some more parts because 4wheelparts had screwed me over so ordered some parachord and wrapped my steering wheel to cover up this nasty black goop.

Slowish 1989 XJ Build-ugw2xk7.jpg

The boxes were opened and this is what they had. I ordered the smittybilt xrc bumper package but still waiting on front bumper and sliders should be here the 7/7. (again do not mind the cb mounts wires arent even hooked up to this location.)

And that is where it sits right now. I have some adjustable uppers from RC I need to install before i go camping next weekend. I also have a 98 front grill and header panel I plan on throwing on soon. And as soon as my front bumper gets here I will install it.

MODS NOT LISTED (will get pictures if requested.)
-blue floorboard LEDs
-LED dome lights
-blue gauge cluster lights, and prndl light
-pioneer deck loaded with bluetooth and color changing
-Pioneer 900w Amp
-2 10"s
-CB Radio (cobra 19)

Progress on the lights from Matt, looking good. (I choose the chrome like Matt had initially said.) Slowish 1989 XJ Build-zq9xq3i.jpg

Got another picture. Should be shipping out tomorrow. And 4wheelparts told me my bumper should be there tomorrow. Fingers crossed. 4wheelparts is full of miscommunication.

I will take some more pictures when I get home. This bumper is nice but it does take patience I can't say it was the smartest built bumper I've ever installed. But it looks good and is very sturdy. As far as the license plate it does not come stock with any mounts for it. Once I put my spare on I will have to find a new spot to mount my license plate. And yes those holes are for jacking.

Just picked up my bumper from 4 wheel parts and the front had a few scratches and it was wrapped horribly, they threw in the bull bar for free which should be here tomorrow. Along with the mounting hardware that should have came with the bumper.

The light set ups should all be plug and play except the corner lights...it's a different insert pattern....other than that your good to go...
Also did you get the mounting brackets for the newer header panel?

looks good, starting to make me think about putting a late model grille on.. oh, one last question about that rear bumper, did you have to remove your oem fuel tank bash plate? or does it fit right in with it?

Ill upload pictures of the grill and front bumper in a couple hours just getting back from Dinkey Creek. And yes the fuel skid must drop down.
