Have fun with your build. MJ's are awesome wheelers, but so are XJs Plus you can fit more people in an XJ

 

Okay, I know I said I wasn't going to do this, but I did.





I thought I had a front bumper, but the guy never got back to me. So I figured I'd go this route. So I guess the first project with my new welder will be a front bumper.

I also installed some poly swaybar bushings I found at the junkyard.


And I got my windshield replaced.

haha at first i thought this thread was about the cleaning product, Simple Green.

but looks like youve got a great start on a cool build. definitely digging that mj though, looked nice. hope the XJ turns out just as good or better!

 

Spent all day yesterday working on the Jeep. I don't know about you guys, but I hate the gold trim on this thing. It's got to go. First I took the flares off, more of that later.

So then I started by removing the gold Country pin-striping as well as the rubber pad thing on the bottom of the door and the gold sticker just above that. (I'll be doing a write up on this real soon.)

I used a "magic eraser" to get off all the pin-striping and glue from the rubber trim and glue from the badges/emblems. It works amazingly, just be prepared for a mess.

 

Next up on the "get rid of the gold" list is the flares. Now I plan on running something different down the road, so I decided to paint/dye the flares satin black.

I can't wait to bolt them up. And yes, those are the same flares. I'll do a write up on this too.

 

Sorry to thread jack but i am trying to figure out if i need to remove that piece of metal that your plate is tied on too in order to install a custom bumper? If so how would i go about removing that?

 

Oh my gosh!!!!!! why the heck would you sell that beast of a MJ for that little thing! . Well at least your wife can get in .
