So I have been working a lot of OT and weekends lately. Had my 4 day birthday/holiday weekend ruined. All for nothing.
The truck I've been working on at work was just steps away from being done today. Had everything working, except for one camera. While tracking it down, we raised the truck body to track some wiring. Here's what we found:

That's the truck's frame. Basically split in half. No coming back from that, it's done. Made from hardened steel, and can't weld to it. Only thing holding it together was the top of the rail.
A closer view:

Driver never reported this. It is part of his inspection. It did NOT just happen. I am especially pissed, as not only were several weeks and money wasted, but it cost me my ****ing vacay. Driver was written up for missing it. Bastard deserved it. Should have been fired in my opinion.
Anyways, on to better...got home and wire brushed the rear axle, and got it cleaned. Primer tomorrow. Paint Wednesday. Rest of the parts also on Wednesday. Hope to have all ready to go by the weekend...

Which brings me to my next gripe...supposed to be 110 with humidity by Saturday. Triple digit temps all this week with humidity.

I have a fan out there. Does me little good as all wrenching happens outside. Jeep won't fit in the garage, LOL...I take mini breaks going into the garage and sitting in front of the fan, haha!
I made my own shop fan that has irrigation tubing, works pretty good, I usually have it on when I have work in the heat under the jeep. Helps make it cool with a little misty breeze.
That sucks about the truck you were working on for all that overtime, that guy should definitely be fired for costing all that excess labor and materials on a truck they are going to have to replace.

Agreed, LOL
Who knows...those guys are freakin' butchers...
Wait til you see this next pic...came in today. Claims he doesn't know how it happened. I call bull****, looks like an at speed curb/obstacle shot to me...and a pretty bad one as the top of the rim was damaged too...

Anyways, what I got done today...primed it up...

Flipped it and primed the other side...

...then painted that side. I'll let it cure overnight, flip it tomorrow, and paint the other side.

Tomorrow is payday, so I can go get the rest of what's needed for the disc brake swap. Think I'm gonna roll home first, flip and paint, shower, then go get my parts. That leaves Thursday and Friday to do what 's needed for the swap, plus painting the components. Really hope to have everything ready to re-install by the weekend.
BTW, Ross...just a little something to back up your statement about our drivers not being so good at driving:

MAD FLECKS, YO

LMFAO....like I said, BUTCHERS.

Decided to roll with it. I'll wait for the next round to go all out. I'll probably regret it, but I kinda need to get my wheels back. A comment was made to me about my borrowed car, that was meant as a joke, but humor has a basis in reality. So I need to return the car as soon as I can...
You got me, I ask myself that question daily. And thanks!
