So its -14F or so this morning. Started the jeep up to get a coffee and some coolant started leaking. This happened the other day when it was -22F, but at that time the hood was frozen shut so I couldnt see where the coolant was coming from. I can get the hood open now, and it looks like the leak is right where the upper radiator hose meets the thermostat housing. Its not a lot that is leaking, enough to fit in one cupped hand, but still not great. Pair that with the inability for my jeep to get up to temp lately (granted I have a 195 degree thermostat, but still its only getting to like 150 degrees) and I think its time I take the upper part of the cooling system apart and check it out
Messaged XJWonders whose swap this was and he was unsure why it had happened, but recommended an upgrade! I let the jeep sit in the driveway away from the house for about a week after this lol
This EXACT same thing happened to me last year. I'm pretty sure just like you the plastic casing got hot/rattled and allowed the bolts to touch the body, blowing the fuse in the process. I fixed my problem with the same mini fuse but installed it directly in front of the fuse box.

Its crazy! I parked my jeep in the street for a week after this happened lmao
Alright, so I recently did an oil change and installed a fumoto drain. At that time I also attempted to rotate my tires, but realized my lug nuts were seized. Neat. So I ordered some gorilla lug nuts and went to the shop to install them today.
Well each lug nut came off, but one.
The assistant at the shop was nice enough to help whittle it down for me, but was unable to get it off. Said I should hit up Tire-rama downtown and they would be able to get it off. If anyone has a recommendation for getting this off, lemme know lol
While he was doing that, I made a most unfortunate discovery in my steering. I noticed a little bit of wobble where the tie rod meets the passenger heim, so I tried to tighten the nut that puts backpressure on the tie rod, and the tie rod slipped right off the threads of the heim joint. NEAT!
Super pissed that this happened, but also would've been way more pissed if I found it while doing 70 down the highway.
Glad you caught that heim before you went for a ride...It looks like it did a number on both the heim and the nut...I'm assuming the rod is stripped as well ?? Anyhow, I have a nut extractor set that removes stripped lugs nicely.. I've ditched all those aluminum capped lugs on every old mopar I own.. Nothing but trouble... I just picked up a whole four wheel set of acorn style lugs for a 6 bolt pattern at a very reasonable price on amazon...

If by the rod you mean the threads inside of the tie rod, then yes. Considering getting a 3/4 tap in there to try and unbooger the threads, but its looking like ill be calling ruffstuff tomorrow to see what just a new tie rod will cost me. Considering ditching the heims altogether for a TRE setup.
And I just picked up some gorilla acorns myself! Just need to get this one guy off...
Had that happen a long time ago on my old Road Runner. Ended up actually drilling out the lug till I could collapse it. Saved the rim and like you, bought all new acorn nuts for it.
I bet you'll get better steering feel if you switch to a TRE setup.
Just got off the phone with Ruff Stuff. Think I will move to a TRE setup, just need to decide if I want to buy the reamers and ream the knuckles to 7 degrees OR drill the knuckles to 7/8 inch from the 5/8 inch they are now and use a tapered insert like these.
The benefit to using the tapered inserts is that I dont need to buy a reamer, but i dont want to half *** it

Unfortunately this problem will take a back seat to the steering, but it does give me more time to figure out how to fix it lol
StinkyFab came through with their 1 ton over the knuckle steering! The 7075 aluminum is super light, and the moog problem solver tie rod ends on 3 of the 4 ends are great! Included were their
I did run into some clearance issues with the coil spring perches. Needed to do some cutting and grinding, along with adjusting the steering stops on my knuckles, but in the end I got it to work with no hitting of anything
Overall, install was pretty straight forward. If I never need to ream anything again I'll be happy. Especially with ho expensive these reamers are
Everything feels nice and tight at this point. Just need to get everything aligned and hopefully not have to worry about steering systems for the rest of my life lol
