I got this from NAXJA.com from a user there...

Just get the cheapest kit they have if they're out of the AA.
Thanks for the fast reply. Probably going to go with the Teraflex Kit then unless they can get an AA kit in fairly soon.

SYE and Driveshaft are on order and will hopefully be here early next week. Went with Adams Driveshaft and SYE Kit from Rough Trail. The Advance Adapters was out of stock and they wouldn't be getting them in until next month. Looking forward to a vibration free XJ.

Sweet! If you dont have snap ring pliers, do yourself a favor and get some. It makes the job a lot easier.

Would you recommend taking the Transfer Case out or leaving it in? People seem to go either way on this.

I would just pull it out. Takes a little more time to pull it but will make the actual job a lot faster and easier.

x2, those snap rings can be really ****ty to get out, i cant imaging trying to do it on my back under the jeep, and be successful, and not throw a number of wrenches

Thanks, probably going to do that. Not too fond of crawling around on the ground under the jeep...it gets old really fast.

Also, just realized I haven't really posted any pictures of the front. The previous owned had crashed into something in the front end. Up until last week, the drivers side bumper cap and fender flare were still on. My buddy was pushing up on the vehicle from inside the wheel well and popped off the fender flare . And since the front quarter panel is bowed a little but from the accident. I can't seem to pop it back on. So here is how it sits for now until I can figure out a way to "pretty it up".

The wife and I are trying to plan our trip out west once I separate from the military this fall. Pretty sure we have decided on a roof top tent for a 2-3 week, 6K mile journey. So... I got a couple months the get the Cherokee in shape for that. Pretty excited to turn this XJ into an overland build!

RT SYE and Adams driveshaft came in today. Overall quality looks great on both parts. Now it's time to pull the transfer case...and a beer.

I'm considering that exact same kit, so I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it. Good luck with the install!

Good choice! I'm almost done installing my SYE, but I'm having trouble finding time for it. What branch of the military are you in?

Everything looks good so far, I'll let you know how she rides.

The beer turned to whiskey.

Good luck with yours, and I'm in the Air Force.

Well, got the TC out last night, those 6 mount bolts we on there! Was not fun only being able to use a 1/4 in ratchet on most of the stud nuts. Contemplated taking the exhaust out at point but figured that would give me an even bigger headache.

Well...something came up at work and I'm not getting the time off that I need to do the SYE and now that the transfer case is out...I kind of need my Jeep back. There is a good 4x4 Jeep shop here in town and the guy is hooking me up. Dropped the TC off to him this morning and he said he'd have it done by the end of the day. Really wish I had a second vehicle.

Picked up some Valvoline Dex/Merc that works as a Dexron III. Hoping to have good luck with it, seems to be a good safe choice after the reading a bunch of threads on the forums.

On a side note...Just ordered an IRO Double Shear Trackbar and Tenneco HD Steering stabilizer. Hoping that will tighten up the steering a bit. Haven't heard anything bad about IRO so I'm expecting a good product.
