Did you mount the scope yourself? What scope mount did you use?
Have you had a chance to shoot it yet?
I am curious how accurate it is?
Yes, I used the aluminum rear sight mount setup. It seems to be the most common way of adding a scope to the M91/30's. The gun is amazingly accurately with iron sights or the scope. It's a pretty awesome weapon. Originally Posted by Firehawk068

According to The Walking Dead, you just need to pierce the center of the brain. Knifes and such seem to be pretty effective against the walkers.Originally Posted by crdude

great to find a group like this! my old jeep was in process of being ZRT (zombie response team) ready, but it got wrecked
. So, i bought a new jeep a couple weeks ago and am going to be starting over, this time with a better frame and less mileage. here is my old ZRT jeep. Has lift, bigger tires, and ZRT stickers. also painted it flat black to be more...stealthy i guess

i'm staring my collection of zombie destruction. i already have a few hand guns, but i'm getting my first rifle. smith and wesson m&p 15-22. it's basically an AR that uses a 22lr round. Originally Posted by DasWulf79

what are your thgouhts on the 715t? i was looking at the 715t flat top as well, but a lot of the reviews i saw pointed out that it fails to eject quite a bit. i do like the price a lot better than the 15-22 though.

I only had problems with cheap Winchester ammo not ejecting ( like 2 out of every 25). Switched to CCI Stingers and have had no problems. They also make a AR 22 specific round as well now that are supposed to feed really well. Here is a link for those:

I enjoy the 715t and its fun as hell to shoot.

if you guys are looking for military type rifles - why get them calibered in .22?
i have a .22 rifle, it is good for plinking but has no stopping power.
i've also got a semi-auto ak-47 clone (WASR-10). and a mosin nagant (russian ww2 sniper rifle) calibered with a nice fat 7.62x54mm round. you can pick up a mosin for around $150 at most gun shops or shows. comes with a bayonet too.

I couldn't find a pic of my AR earlier. Here it is with my Mossberg 590. Its a base model Olympic Arms .223 upgraded with an A.R.M.S SIR handguard system and flip up sight gas block.Originally Posted by daedricjeep

I like large rounds myself. Though I have been debating picking up a 10/22 and going all crazy with a stock kit and 50 round drums. It's so hard to find ammo right now, especially at a fair price. I got 440 rounds with my M91/30 for $199. Best deal in the gun world right now. You don't even have to hit someone to kill them. Just get close, if the shockwave doesn't do the trick, the muzzle flash with burn them alive. LolOriginally Posted by daedricjeep

22's are nice for me because we can shoot in the neighborhood. Last time I shot the Mosin at home, a neighbor called the cops and reported explosions in the neighborhood. BOOM! BOOM!

also 22 amo is inexpensive. i'mnot saying it's a replacement for an AR, but it's a nice way to fire that style rifle without breaking the bank. and what is all this talk that people have of 22's not having stopping power. it been proven that a 22 rifle can potentially be lethal at over 400 yards. plus, i dont know how many of you have been shot before, but if you have very hot metal penetrating almost any part of your body, you're most likely not gonna keep going and if thats not enough there are quite a few more rounds to persuade you.Originally Posted by ZombieResponseJeep

here is the video to back up how lethal a 22 can be.
yes it's 9 minutes long, but it's lots of interesting info.

I grew up in Louisiana, and most guys I knew that trap alligators, use 22lr and 22 mag. Now granted they shoot the gators at point blank range, but an alligators skull is way thicker than a humans. I wouldnt want to take a 22 into battle, but its what you do with what you got ya know.

the ammo shortage will stabilize over the next few months (is my guess at least) due to the assault weapons ban not being re-imposed. If people would quit freaking out and dumping their savings on ammo ravishing the supply... haha!
i've got a ruger 10/22, 30 shot clip. sure if you shoot someone in the head it will do some damage but most people would aim center mass (like the torso) and you'd have to pepper someone pretty good if they're coming at you with that round. Shoot them center with a softpoint AK round or similar, not so likely
.
Also i look at penetrating power, if someone or something is behind say a wooden plank or sheet metal that .22 is going to flatten (i've shot mine at plenty of these sorts of things... you get bored in the country) but a larger bullet rips right on through.
Funny discussion, at any rate.
