Just a couple of pics from today. Test fitted the radiator and found a couple of easily solved issues.
The first problem was solved with a sawzall and a hammer.
The second is the distance from the water pump pulley and the radiator. I headed down to the parts house and picked up a short style water pump (ask for one off a '67 Chevy truck w/ 327 to anyone who might need this in the future). I had initially wanted to run a serp belt setup, but I'll probably end up using v-belts and a pulley set off of a '67 C10.
Also, got the driveshaft finished. Tried it in the truck and it fits perfect! You might notice we knocked the stupid weight collar off the slip yoke. Pay no mind to the mess, I've been slacking since I got back from Winterfest.

You and me both.
Didn't do as much as I would of liked this weekend. Shot some guns, hung out, and wasted time. Pulled the front bumper to better eye up the radiator situation. I also swapped in the short style water pump. I could of sworn I had a set of pulleys in my swap meet bins, but damn if I know where they are after this move.
Dug out a set of roller rocker to install in the motor. Jounced the suspension today as well and surprisingly, it looks like the steering stabilizer is the only thing hitting the oil pan, so off it comes. Supposed to snow tomorrow, so unless I get a space cleared out in my big building, progress will be stopped for a bit.
Nothing else to mention, but here's a pic to tide ya over.

What about using an electric short water pump so you can maintain the serpentine setup? Can't wait to see this thing run.

I actually have an electric water pump kit i'd sell you on the cheap for it. Lets you retain the stock water pump and uses its own small belt from the pump to the electric motor.

Thanks for the input guys. Think I'm going to stick with the short water pump for the time being. I found a low mount alternator bracket through Alan Grove Components that I'm going to pick up next paycheck. Also been toying with the idea of going with a cog belt setup instead of v-belts. Shot an email to Ron at Black Mountain Precision to see if he could answer a couple of questions I had. Weather sucks and with the MJ outside I've been stuck doing research.
Silver Jeeps ftw!

Finally spent a little time working on the MJ.
Plans changed on how to mount the radiator... so she got a little lighter.
Header panel notched...
Radiator in place, I need to trim a hair more to get it exactly where I want it...
Sitting pretty, heck, the hood even closes!
From the front...
I started making my radiator bolt down brackets, but didn't snap any pics of them. Also borrowed some pulleys of a friends truck for mock up purposes. With the weather getting nicer, I hope to invest a little more time into getting her going.
Never did hear back from Black Mountain Precision. Oh well.

I'm going to swap an SBC into my XJ. What kind/beand of rad are you using? Will it be enough to effectively keep your engine cool? Great build so far.
