Well, I'm not dead in case anyone was worrying (Highly unlikely though). Few updates for y'all. Got my dad an XJ and have been working on it pretty much non-stop, getting it back up to par, finally got a break from that today, and have been playing with an idea.

Have a few pictures of the idea I'm playing with. BONUS POINTS to the person that can correctly I.D. the model of this transmission!

Nope. Here's a hint: it was built from 1947 to 1967, and came in everything its parent company built ranging from 1/2 ton to 2.5 ton trucks and vans.

So the Muncie SM420 is in the hot-tank getting cleaned up after 52 years of use. Once it's done, going to shot-peen the shell and paint it purple. Why purple? Because that's the color I have. Haters gonna hate.

I have a stroker build in progress, haven't got it finished yet, keep making minor changes as I go, and as money permits. Thanks though!

Just saw this thread. Keep up the good work.

Isn't the renix tps signal reversed from the H.O.? With the renix as the throttle opens up the resistance is greater. With an H.O. As the throttle opens up the resistance is less. Or visa Versa. I believe I read that somewhere.

I don't know where you read that, but I checked them side by side on a volt meter, the only difference I noticed was the signal voltage is higher on the H.O.'s TPS than the Renix's, both the voltages changed at the same rate in the same direction. Other than running slightly rich, it hasn't given me a problem, and honestly, I'm happy that it tells the ECU that the throttle's open further than it really is, since I tow a travel trailer over a few passes, keeps me from running too lean.

It may be that way with the TCU side on the auto trans setup, I can see that being what you read, but on the 5 speed, they're the correct setup.

The baby XJ flexing. Bought this little gem for $400 running and driving.

Neat idea for a build. Good luck with your mods and I'm sure everyone wants to see how it will turn out.

Well I'm hoping to get it at least 3.5" higher and actually flexi. The LCA's are terrible on this thing, previous owner put some cheesy aftermarkets on that limit articulation more than stock LCA's
