Default Project "Simple XJ"

1996 XJ Country

Picked this up a couple weeks ago from the original owner. Has 200k on it but extremely clean and runs great! Cruise control, AC, pwr locks and pwr widows all still work and best of all ZERO rust on her. Here are a couple of quick pics from when I got it home.

Jeep had a cracked grill so I went by a local pick and pull JY and got this for $18 bucks. It was green so I put primer on and then painted it black. I am pleased with the way it came out.

Really feeling the black and red look so I went ahead and pulled all the trim off this weekend and decided to put Herculiner on.

Nice, I think the black grill looks a lot better than the chrome anyway.

Yeah I agree. I am gonna eventually put black wheels on it and the flares are off right now being painted black. I also plan on following all that up with new black bumpers, a roof rack and a lift with some 31's.

No issues at all. I just taped it off and took a palm sander to rough up the surface so it would stick better and then cleaned it and put the first coat on. You wanna make sure that its not a glossy surface or it will not stick as good. I ended up putting two coats on each side to get good coverage though.

Yes I did buy the "kit" but all that consists of is a roller, brush and a pan. It was only $10 bucks so I guess it was worth it. I got all the materials for it at Auto Zone for like $35.

Do yourself a favor and make sure you have long sleeves on. I ad rubber gloves but still got some on my arms and it was hard as crap to get it off.
