Quote: Right on lol I read that for explorer sport-trac rotors are the same size but a 5x4.5 bolt pattern

I looked at the vamco kit for about 5 minutes untill I saw the 1000 $ price tag lol. I could get almost everything from the jy I need for a couple hundred

I also need to get a lot better at welding before I weld on a new track bar mount lol
They are the same bolt pattern so they will work too, mine just came with everything i bought.

Someone in my club wasted money on that ******* kit lol... My WJ conversion will come in at like $400...

And you get to weld the hub spacers to the knuckles. My welds look fine but it was hard to weld in the gap between the knuckle and the 1/4 spacer. One of them could use a little more welding but you have to heat them up and let them cool since they are cast and i've been lazy.

Should be a pretty sweet set up, then you can sell your track bar you have now for some more moneys.

Ruffstuff or Ballistic 3/4 hiem steering kit with either the JKS track bar bracket or use ruffstuffs again. I'd like to keep a rubber bushing on the axle side of the track bar is my only thing about that, heim on the other end.

My track bar will be pretty short with the ruffstuff axle bracket unless i slam it all the way over to the coil bucket and hack up a lot of the passenger UCA mount which really isnt even all that necessary...

Yeah it will pull the axle over and make turning more difficult.

There is endless information out there but finding anything worth a damn can be difficult.

Yep, this is one of those times when people tell you to search and all you find is just a bunch of random info without a clear and concise fact list or anything.

You have discs on your 8.25? Thinking about either selling my kit or going ahead and installing it

Not yet. I'm swaping in a 29 spline 8.25 soon and I'm in the process of dremeling them out to fit it. That's probly not gonna happen till jan/feb tho. Wont have much time off work again till then. The build will explode again after christmas is done and over with

Got my hood vents insatlled, and painted the lip of my passenger fender finally.

Started cleening up the RE coils with a flap disk. And compared my c1500 brakelines to the stainless braided hose I go from the JY and the c1500 lines are longer by about an in so ill use those in stead

Seafoamed the engine today and found out my intake/exhaust gasket is leaking pretty bad as well as a couple exhaust joints. (Explains why ive been running so rich lately) Its also got a pretty nast lifter tick. And a RMS leak not to mention 222k. I know these motors run well past this but I figure its time for a rebuild

So I'm thinkin about building a new 4.0l. I'd like to do a v8 swap but I can't have the xj down that long. I don't really have the space to have the jeep down either.

What im thinkin:

-96 block
-7120 head(port and polish)
-mild cam (mopar performance stage 2 maybe)
-99 intake
-63mm t-body (stroked jeep)
-1.6 roller rockers
- .030 overbore
- at this point I'm not considering a stroker but well see I've got a lot of reading to do

Ill probly fix the intake gasket soon tho

thats true im considering a few options at this point.

ima try and re-tourque the intake in the morning to see if that cures my issue, if not ill tear it apart Wednesday and put a new gasket on there. i bought the gasket yesterday just in case. if any thing if got the gasket for when i do the 99 intake

what i really shoud do is fix the RMS leak/ fix intake leak/ and pick up a JY head and do a good port and polish job to it along with roller rockers/valve job and possibly ls1 valves. itd be a good time to install my 99 intake and some 24# injectors too

for 96+ its bolt it with a little grinding on the #6 intake runner to clear my header

for 95- you need the power steering pump/and bracket for a 96+ and id recomend going to the 96+ belt routing also since the new pump assembly will require a shorter belt any ways.

theres also some vacum line rearanging too but ill cross that bridge when i get to it

tightened up the intake this morning a few bolts were a bit loose, mostly the bottom ones. took it for a ride and seems to be running smoother. i guess another seafoming would tell

ans i rolled over 222000 today
