Hey Everybody...back with my 2nd Cherokee build. This one is a 98 Limited with just over 200,000 miles. It's been around the block a few times so it needs some attention. I've had it for over a year now and drive it only 6 miles a day usually to and from work. I did the basic maintenance when I first got it. Plugs, wires, filters, etc. Had to put in a new A/C system back in Feburary (of all months), due to the compressor locking up and a new starter a few months back, due to the old one being soaked in oil. Besides that it has been reliable as a DD. Last year was busy with getting married and a house. Now, things have settled down and I have been able to gather a few things over the last 4 months to bring the suspension back to life. That will be a good start. The goal is to build a reliable daily driver that looks good and can take the family camping almost anywhere. Here we go.....

Nice Jeep. I have the same color/trim/wheels country, with 200k miles too. I also have the same lift combo of OME springs/Bilstein shocks in the mail. Looking forward to seeing yours with the lift, so I can get an idea of what mine is going to look like. I wish I could find that kind of wheel deal on my local craigslist, but theres never anything good on there.

Thanks man. Good stuff for Cherokees come few and far between on CL around here too. I got lucky this time. Kid wanted them out of his dads garage, or dad probably wanted them out, lol. And, he was asking $300!
There are a few builds I have been looking at with similar parts lists, for an idea of how it will sit. Mainly..... https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/ty...-build-124794/
Same front and rear springs anyway
Thanks to thebe001. I've been checkin out your build. Helped me a lot...

Had a chance to clean up the Icons today. Ready to slap these on in place of those clear coat flaking Snowflakes! Thought about Plasti Dipping the Snowflakes black or anthracite but, ultimately wanted 16" Moabs. Icons are the next best thing and at $200 for the set with tires, I feel like I stole them. Tires are not the best but, they will get me by for a few months, while I save for KM2s, MTRs, or MTZs. Not sure which.

How high is that lift going to be? Don't see the need for that drop pitman arm with anything under 4.5"s, it's all about your drag link being adjusted. I'm at 4" and have no issues.

Yeah, I'm wondering. I've installed one kit before. A rough country 3" kit that turned out to be more like 3.5" or 4". I needed it then so, I'm thinking I might need it now at around 3.5" to 4". Also going to replace the shackles later on so, I might end up over 4". Dunno

Some people like to prepare when it comes to lift, I.E buying pitman arms and SYEs/shims but I think it's best to put the lift on first and see how it rides.
