the front is definitely a dana 30, but the back is a AMC 35 which is basically a dana 35, they sold the axle tooling equipment to dana in 85. it was originally the AMC 15

So some problems on the home front. Out of four doors only one opens and closes. DS mechanism inside isn't hooked up it seems like and opens on a very rare occurrence. DS rear the button is missing on the outside. PS rear the lock mechanism is shut closed and wont let the door close and I've tried everything to move it back to the open position and wont budge. Tomorrow I'm suppose to be going to the JY for a drivers side door (i plan on doing half doors anyways) a door handle, PS door mechanism, PS O **** handle, and hopefully 2 door locks. Yea lets talk about that pile of cow dung that's become a problem. So I ordered two door lock cylinders from Autozone and they were to small and also didn't have the lever they were suppose to. That was a complete wash.
Hmmmm what could I be doing with this!!! STAY TUNED AND YOU SHALL FIND OUT!!!
I returned the diff cover gaskets after watching BleepinJeep and finding out I could just make my own. I also yes support yankee candle yet I do not support this smell......... I thought it was mid summers night.
I ordered these after pulling the cylinders apart I'd bought from Autozone and of course they don't fit the old cherokee locks. So if anybody wants these or has lock cylinders to sell PM me.

So I haven't done this whole future plans bs so lets do this
First set of plans:
Cut n' fold fenders
Cut n' fold the rear quarters
Light Bar above the wind shield
4.5in lift
33in tires
Stock fenders (I like the look, so kill me.)
Paint it (I'm thinking royal blue)
Head unit (Something cheap but reliable)
AM speakers (same as above)
Lunch box lockers
Front prerunner bumper
Rear tire carrier (no gas can, i hate that ****)
Different seats mine are shot
Seat covers
Fix floor pans
Fix door windows
Half doors
Rock sliders
Rebuild much later:
Ford 302 bored over, stand alone pcm (i haven't decided how much)
Upgraded trans obviously
Internal roll cage
My favorite thing I want do is a permenant cut out of the entire roof with a touno cover that snaps on.
Longs arms and 1 tons
thats about it for now i suppose.

Transmission is on its way and will likely be here Tuesday. I found one from an 88 Cherokee with a 100k on it for $450 shipped. Anybody have any insight on this. Should I have picked a different year, was the price accurate? I was told that's a pretty good deal?

I can't speak with any type of expertise but around Atlanta parts for remix models seem to be hard to come by. But AW4s for 91 and up are regularly advertised on Craigslist for around that price. I got lucky and found an AW4 and a 4.0l from a 98 limited that the guy sold me for $375. He even pulled it for me. Supposedly it just had a timing issue but my son and I plan on rebuilding it. Anyway None of my three XJ's need either at the moment. Since I'm not a mechanic this should be fun!
