Started the process of replacing the head and head gasket...
First step, get Jeep started and moved into the driveway. Lol

Took the wheels off and set the rotors on pieces of wood because I'm short. Lol

Intake valves were impressively clean... Absolutely ZERO carbon buildup.

And this is how it sits for the night. Going to remove the head in the morning.

Made some more progress..

So clean...

Umm..... What is this and why is it there?!

Oh.. That's why...
I don't like Champion Double Platinums any more.

Looks like this is the only place the head gasket blew. Right into the water jacket. Lol

Painted my valve cover red.

Looks like I'll be putting the new head and gasket in on Wednesday. Then it's just a matter of putting humpty dumpty back together... Lol

Tried to get some work done...

MLS steel head gasket

And then Mother Nature was like "NOPE no more progress for you today."

So I went to Barnes & Noble to get some reading material to keep me busy. I'm a huge fan of expedition style builds and all the cool products they have, so I figured I might as well get Australian 4WD. And of course 4x4 Garage to drool over ORFXJ's Cherokee. Lol

I'm excited for the head too. Can't wait to get this thing back up and running. Not sure what the weather has planned for tomorrow, but hopefully it won't rain long enough for me to get it back together. Driveway installs ftw! Lol

Well.... Jeep seems to be running as it should. I've only done 1-2 short trips in it, so only time will tell. Just had it running in the driveway for about 45mins along with racejeep as a comparison and the coolant temps were identical.
Racejeep has two 10" pusher e-fans in front of the radiator that brought the temp right down to thermostat temp the second I switched them on, so that upgrade will also be put on my Sprintex Jeep.
Annnndddd..... GOODIE TIME!!!
A set of HD Offroad roof sliders that I got off of xj-man (NAXJA) yesterday. Lol. Going to mount a 50" LED light bar to the front of the sliders.
