So between work, school, and getting arrested
I haven't got to spend as much time as i should have with my jeep. Here's some progress from the last couple weeks:
up on axles

Interior ripped out, took the front seats out after picture (preparing for bedliner)

Preparing for TNT frame stiffeners

Moving it onto black top

And the motor

You can't just say this and not explain. I'm pretty sure there is a law against crap like that.Originally Posted by BPranes

Mine TNT frame stiffeners write up:
Ground all the rubberized undercoating **** off

Painted with 1300 -2000 degree VHT header paint so it won't melt away when welding

Fit frame stiffener over and bent into place using jacks and c-clamps (bad picture)

One lined up perfectly (didn't get a picture) I painted around the edge of the frame stiffener with cheap blue paint to see where I would need to weld

Then used te wire wheel to remove all paint where the blue and black met.

That's all the progress I have so far. I knew that undercoating would probably melt when I welded so that's why I got rid of that. I used the paint to prevent rust. Once it's all welded up and done I will be spraying new rubberized undercoating over the whole thing.

So I got home from school last night and was looking at my motor when I decided I didn't like a few things on it so I tore it back apart

First problem, the machine shop who painted my motor did I ****ty job, it started rusting through after the first rain, even though I covered it up.
Therefore I'm going to repaint it, but what color? All my lift excessories are red, all my trim and extra pieces will be black, and my jeep will my Rhinolined charcoal gray. What color shoul I do the motor?
Picture shows some of the rust

Second issue, header and intake were rubbing because they're not made to work with each other so I had to do I little denting on the header and grinding on the intake; still need to do more.
I'm going to wrap my header in header wrap to control some of the heat.

man you sure put a lot of effort into the prep for those frame plates. I usually just clean it off and lay down some galvanizing primer (weldable primer). I had no issues burning it in and it definitely keeps the rust away. you should drill a couple 3/4" holes in those plates so you can add some plug welds
nice progress on the build so far
