Did the solid 8.25 cover bolt right up or did you have to drill out a hole or two for alignment?

2 of the holes needed to be drilled out.

The leafs for the rear Rusty's kit is 3.5 inches, so it very well could've lifted your Jeep 4+ inches since it's a new spring. Here's the brake lines I got.

Well, today I was stopped at a stop sign, and I was letting a pedestrian with a dog pass in front of me, and BAM! A truck rear ends my Jeep. Luckily the guy had insurance, and the only damage seems to be that my rear bumper and hitch are now bent and angled downward. I hope the insurance pulls through, once it does I'll be getting a new, beefy bumper with a hitch built in. Nobody got hurt, and the guy felt terrible about what happened, so all in all it could've been worse. Pics of the damage coming soon.

Thanks sucks man! Good think it doesn't sound like too much damage and good think you have a hitch back there. I was really happy with the Curt tubular one.. it was pretty stout and was only $150 something on Amazon.

Yeah, the hitch saved the day! It was a pretty hard hit, and it didn't break any glass or the tail lights or anything like that. I'll be getting a nicer bumper with d ring mounts and a hitch built in soon. Also I need to get a gas tank skid just in case.

I'm bummed. The damage is worse than I thought. The hitch bent and cracked the unibody rails. I'll bring it to a shop to get an estimate soon, at least it's driveable and everything. Here are pics of the bent down bumper and hitch, and the messed up unibody rails.

That's a huge bummer man, I know how you feel though. Exact same thing happened to my first Cherokee bout a week after I lifted it, my damage was a lot worse though. Take the money the insurance will give you, and just keep driving it.

Definitely. I'll save the insurance money I get, plus a little more, and keep my eyes out for a stock 98 or 99 XJ, then swap all the parts over. I'm glad it will still drive well until I find a new one!

Well... Today has been a bad day. My Jeep was stolen last night. It was parked right by my apartment. I even had a club on it and it was locked up. This really sucks. I filed a police report and everything, so it might show up, but I won't hold my breath. So long green machine, you were a good XJ.
