I'm sure they're a little heavy but I'm obviously not going for the lightest bike with an old steel frame lol. It's about 25lbs I'd guess, BMX is around 22 and it's not much of a difference.

Totally, and as Jeep people, we understand strength is usually more important than weight, especially when you ride it all the time.

I was thinking about getting those Napier hood vents too, how do you like them?

Nice XJ bro, looks very capable.

And who can complain about a good free bike right? I mean at first the only thing I needed was wheels and pedals. I probably still have less than $200 in the whole thing.

Thanks! I really like them. I like the fact that they have gutters to keep out the majority of rainwater. I also like the fact that they stick up above the hood a little, I think it makes it look really good.

Well, I got the XJ an alignment today. The shop told me that the upper control arm bushings on the frame side might be going out, and the track bar I have (RE1600), which has the heim joint on the frame side, is hard to keep lubed up, it squeaks a lot. I guess this is all an excuse for me to get an IRO double shear track bar, and long arms, lol. I knew I should've just spent a little more and got a double shear track bar. Lesson learned. So new plans are as follows: IRO double shear track bar, IRO long arm setup, and possibly some longer coils and shackle relocation brackets. If I bring the lift up to about 5 inches, with long arms, it should be pretty nice.

I'm never getting rid of this XJ, and I guess if I just end up fixing everything it will run for a long time! Wish me luck guys. Updates will come as soon as I know what's wrong. Fingers crossed. *\_('',)_/*
What was the tranny doing exactly? My buddy is having a problem with his where it takes like 1500-2000 rpm for it to start moving

It wasn't wanting to shift out of first gear, so we replaced the tps, and it was fixed. We just hooked up a code reader and checked out the codes. It was just the throttle position sensor, so the rpms would go really high and it wouldn't want to shift.

Mmm my RE1600 hasn't been lubed since I installed it and there's no squeaks or complaints. I'll probably spray it soonish though just as a food-for-thought.

Yeah, I don't understand it. I do spray lube on it every know and then. It also might be the upper control arm bushings that are squeaking. Everything's lined up and tight, so I'm not too worried. It's just kind of annoying. I'll have my buddy that installed the lift check it out this week, and I'm still going wheeling on Saturday no matter what

Also, I always use petroleum based lube, not water based stuff like WD-40, just to make sure nothing rusts.

So, I looked things up, and apparently Currie has nicer joints that I can buy to replace the heim joint on the re1600 track bar. Someone posted that they used this one, and it worked out well. It's also greaseable. Here's a link to it, what are your thoughts? http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...t.aspx?id=3580

I'm also going to call IRO tomorrow and see if this will work with my re1600 track bar. Seems like a good setup. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=PFX

This also seems like a good choice, as long as it will fit. It's got a greaseable joint, which I like. Any info or opinions are appreciated. http://www.rustysoffroad.com/jeep-su...unt-xj-zj.html
