Well I just picked up a nice trailer to tow my heap with. I've been looking for a deal on a 16ft to 20ft dovetail car trailer. I wanted a wooden deck since I have two ATVs as well knowing I could use the trailer to tow them as well if we weren't going wheeling. I found a great deal today. Well this guy locally had an open deck style trailer and put 4 planks of wood down in the middle to make it a wooden deck now. So I'm all set.
16ft Dovetailed' trailer with all new lights and wiring. New tongue jack and more for $1100 locally. I pick it up tomorrow. Now I can tow my heap with it and not have to worry about anything other than getting OFF of the trail.
Here's my new Tow Rig that I bought two months ago.

And here's a few pics of the new trailer

Well I was about to install my front axle truss last night on the front Waggy D44 but the driver's side upper mount wasn't welded in place at the right angle. So I just called TNT Customs where I got the truss from, and they are sending me a new upper mount. I'll have to cut the old one off, grind it smooth tonight and wait for the new one to get here. I'm glad TNT Customs stands behind their products. That makes me feel better. The truss is beefy as hell too. It'll look sweet under the Jeep when it's all done.
I personally have the Protools 105 hd... never even used it yet.. heck it is still in the shipping packages in the garage
I use an 18'x84" solid eck trailer to haul my junk. I almost bout an open deck trailer, but was glad I got a solid deck one. Makes it real easy to work on my rig.
Not picking on you man... Are your straps wrapped around the axle in the front? ALso Home depot and lowes sell these neat lil strap holders that you can roll the excess strapsup in and secures them.

We ran into some road blocks with the front axle truss install. The driver's side UCA did not line up with the control arm as you can see below in the pic. It was slightly twisted by several degrees and the bolt would not go all the way through both holes in the UCA.
So I had to cut the existing mount off that was on the brand new truss. I called TNT Customs this morning and they said they are going to send me out a new upper mount for free as it must have been welded up with the wrong angle. That's good news.

Here's the sexy TNT Custom's Waggy D44 truss before I got ahold of it...

This is the driver's side mount that had to be cut off and redone.

I cut off the upper mount with my ol' trusty band saw for a nice flat smooth cut.

This is the truss after I grinded off the old welds and the remaining pieces of the old mount.

Here is the truss ready for the new mount which should be here by early next week. I'll get that lined up and welded in place as soon as it gets here.

I got all my straps from Nothern tool and equipment.
I use 4 of these.. 2 front and 2 back

I also have 2 of these in my tow box. On longer trips I will run 6 straps. Some ppl look at me funny, but you can never be too careful if you ask me.

I also have 4 of these. I strap to the axles on the Turd, but On Pong I strap the rig down loading the suspension.

To me it all depends on your rig how you strap it down. Pong is real light and flexy so it wants to dance going down the road, where as the Turd is stil kinda stiff, so it doesnt move alot when I go over bumps and stuff.
You ccan spend a crap load of money on your trailer when it comes to straps, and tie down equipment.
Also buy 2 trailer spares. If you have a flat it leaves you another spare, that way you might be able to make it to your destination with out worry, and get your spare fixed as well. I get mine from nothern as well, but I wait till they have the tires and rims on sale for under 100

That's great info. Thanks a ton. I'm going to get some straps next week. I'll probably order the same kind as I was looking for some heavy duty ones but couldn't find any locally.
