Last night I took some time to fix my AJ's Offroad rock sliders. He said he sent to me fabbed up for a Rusty's Long Arm kit.... not sure what kit he used to make these with but they didn't fit for sh$t. So I had to cut the front perches off, grind them smooth and then move them back some so I could drill a 1/2" hole for the Rusty's unibody thru-bolt to go through...
Here's what I started with...

And here's what the finished product looks like. Now I am not afraid to catch these sliders on anything now...

Well we're counting down the hours. Two hours till we head to the bushes to go wheelin... I'm about as excited as a toddler in a titty bar right now. I can't concentrate at work. All I can think about is hitting the trails tonight.
Pics will follow come Monday or so when we get back!

Wheelin' was awesome this weekend. Man!! From a hippy camping festival that we stumbled upon (with cutie hippy chicks and all) to the awesome trails we ran... we had a blast!! We had about 10 Jeeps and one Xterra that was the badest Xterra that I've ever seen wheel with us this weekend. The XJ performed up to my expectations, I didn't break anything and I'm glad I'm home with fresh underwear on because the XJ outdrove my comfort level a few times. I was impressed with the level of stuff I could run and run well now.
As for tweaks on the XJ, I do in fact need to trim the corner of the trac bar bracket that we modified and also install some retainer clips for the front coil springs. She gets really noisey bouncing up and down on the trail That's an easy fix. I also have to trim my rear bumper more than I did orginally.
My front locker stopped working shortly after I got on the trail. I just have to adjust the jam nut and thread the nut on the end of the adjustment to fix that.
I think I'm also going to add a Rusty's add a leaf in the rear since my rear squats too much now. The tires we rubbing on stuff that really made it flex out.
Other than those little items the XJ ran great. Handled great and didn't get stuck anywhere.
Pics to follow in the next post.

At camp on Friday afternoon...

A fellow XJ'er and nicely built Rubi TJ too.

Headin to the Gulch...

Starting the Gulch

Scoping our our lines for this trail...

Everyone is picking their lines here.

I love how the mud line on the tire stands out. That's the big mud hole that I didnt know was quite that deep... haha. I'm sure my neighbor loves it.

I have more pics of the XJ actually wheelin and flexing but they are on my friend's camera. As soon as I get them from him, I'll post up here. It's kinda hard to take your own pic when you're drivin' :-)
