kind of yeah... this is the 6.5 though... its the turbod version with more power and torque... BUT its all electronic with the 4L80E chevy tranny... which is a TH400 with overdrive and electronics... so id be swapping the entire wire harness also for this one... this is just a newer verison after the military blazers... civilian version... suppose to only have made about 2500 of these blazers in this body style... BUT itll have the 241 transfercase which is drivers side drop... most vehicles i find that are 6.2's and 6.5's are all 2x4 instead of 4x4 so there not worth buying the whole thing... finally found this one and i could part the rest out to make most my money back... the engine proby only needs a valve job or its more then likely fuel related.. the tranny will need a rebuild though im sure... but that just means i can make it strong enough to withstand alittle more beating...

First off, its nice to see some "Progress" in the thread, I was starting to think it was going to be a dead thread.
Next off, that sounds like a fantastic deal, so long as it doesn't end up being a bad block, or need to be rebuilt completely.
Lastly ^ Completly aggree, when I saw the pictures I thought, "Take the engine and trans, then burn the rest... but selling it makes better seance..

Naw man its not dead... I've just been sinking a lot of money in my Comanche build trying to get it done so I can sell my Dodge... need a truck no matter what... then ill be able to start back on the Xj... but I'm still buying stuff that I see ill need if its on a deal... just piling up in the shed... the engine I think is good... he said its been sitting for 2 or 3 years and he startqd up and it was chattering... diesels do that with old fuel or if its not getting fuel properly... said the motors been rebuilt at one point... so I think ill clean it up in the blazer and get it running right before I pull it... may need nothing! Will have to rebuild the tranny though... 4l80e... so its the th400 with overdrive basically... age it won't be cheap to rebuild... nothing I can do about that... but I can part out the ugly interior and the body... rear and front axles... stuff like that... there's so many pickups in this body style that shouldn't be a problem... I just am Still thinking about it... im not ready to spend this on the Xj yet really... this is my paint for the mj... but its a deal and I hate passing up deals... so I'm stuck in the middle on what to do...

1985 blazer with 8 lug axles swap... 6.2 diesel with the ATS turbo kit... rebuilt 700r4 tranny 25k ago... 208 transfercase... dana 60 rear and still gotta figure out the front... doesnt look like anything else ive seen... lol... so confused... anyways has some rust but no holes... removable top is great other then paint... hes never taken it off since he got it in 99... started right up... interiors pretty much shot... body has no dents really... running boards... only $1000... AND THEN... he has a old trailer sitting off to the side and i asked him to let me know when hes ready to sell it... said if i take the blazer then the trailer goes with for another $100... ramps... dual trailer axles which kinda sucks... needs a deck but had a tractor on it 3 months ago and road down the road fine... stout as hell... needs lights of course... and its not painted so just surface rusty or whatever but its a heavy duty trailer... so i cant pass this up... and i will probly go pick it all up tomorrow for $1100... oh and the balzer insured and everything... runs and drives fine... once its warmed up it doesnt like to start because the glow plugs wont come on... there not suppose to... but the truck wont start unless they do... which is weird but no big deal... ill figure that out before i pull it for project frugal... i got my moneys worth already but you can bet ill part the top and axles out (if i dont keep the axles) and make my money back easily...

I've fixed those glow plug relays a couple of times and they actually should come on also if the engine is hot, but just for a short time (the big light "wait" doesn't come on but you can hear the relay clicking).
Try to cycle on-off a couple of times.
Check the rear body to frame mounts, they tend to rust through because they are near the wheel wells and the whole cab moves 1-2 inches to one side.
The steering box tends to loosen the bolts especially if you have 33s or bigger.
Other than that it's pretty much indestructible.
