Well I have had my Cherokee just over a year now, so I'd say it's high time that I document my progress up to this day.

Here she is as she sat the day she came home.

**** poor paint, obvious rear end (she aint maroon), stained interior, but only 113*** on the odometer!

Now that you have seen the past, it's time to discuss the future.

To this date I am nowhere near a fraction of the way done, but i DO have a general idea of the rocky path I am on.

Project Goal: to build a functional Low-Cog style XJ, while also maintaining a decent road manner, and something that isn't too sore on the eyes either.

I have been a frequent researcher on cherokeeforum.com, and have come across several builds that have inspired me, and I would like to pay a little tribute first off.

96_XJ's project black sky
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/pr...ack-sky-49694/
may Brian continue to rest in peace, still inspiring Jeepers to this day

dukie564's project danger cart:

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/pr...r-cart-114924/

sam24th's project Zombie Olive:

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/pr...e-olive-80431/

Detor's "rolling felony" story

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/ro...y-story-71774/

and most importantly ktmracer419's writeup on low-cog style:

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/lo...24-12-a-32980/

Of course, there have been many others, and many others still to come, but these were my favorites.

Well first thing was first: getting her off the ground, So I bought this:
A used Rusty's 3" lift with adjustable LCA's, a drop pitman arm, T-case drop, and sway bar drop brackets.

and proceeded to do this:

Until I got to this:

Then I wanted to do a little something that would make this Jeep mine. didn't think too much about it, but here is where I landed:

Battery went out in my DD, so I took the opportunity to upgrade the Cherokee battery and transplant to old one to the car.

I landed on this Duralast sealed platinum, 4 year replacement warranty sold me, being that I live in NM, where it goes from ball sweating hot to witches titty cold in two days flat.

Project Flecks-img_1342.jpg

I also picked up a hatch door-card from UPAP, grabbed the third break light too.

Project Flecks-img_1300.jpg

you can also see the box of subs that I had in there, they were crap and weren't in there for long.

Student loans hit, and i just COULDN'T resist

Scoured CL until I swiped these 31x10.5R tires on 15" wheels from a very nice Marine who blew his engine in the Puerco.

Ripped out the murder scene in my cargo space, painted with Rustoleum Bed-liner, and also installed a real box with 12" JVC DVC Subs and a Boss amp to juice them. These went in a home-built box mounted to the rear seat, which can fold forward to allow for more cargo space.
