Picked this 99 classic a few weeks ago. Have been lurking on this site since then and finally joined.

Anyway, its a 99 classic with 250xxx miles. Very minimal rust, solid unibody and floor boards. Had the pipe coming off the water pump rust out so not knowing the history of it, i replaced everything in the cooling system except heater core(needs replacing as well).

Suspension and steering is surprisingly tight. No loose ball joints or tie rod ends and almost new 235/75/15 cooper at3 tires.

Had to patch the exhaust to get by for now until the whole thing can get replaced along with the motor and trans mounts. Cracked manifold and patched exhaust components.

Also has typical oil leaks. Going to start from the top with the valve cover, the the oil filter adapter, then oil pan and rear main if needed.

Its a work in progress for sure and will be a DD while working in it. I am an auto tech by trade so any free time at work will go towards getting it back in tip top shape.

 

Made a little progress on the jeep this past week. Got the new exhaust installed(header on back is brand new) and installed a new fel pro valve cover gasket. Also got a little wash in the front yard as well.

Front u joint is on it way out, well past its way out, binding up bad on turns so that will get fixed soon. After that will be rear brakes and a new lines to the rear brakes.
