Ok so gotta say i love your thread man I've been following for a while, I'd definitely be interested to know if the heat tape under the manifold helps noticeably cuz I've never thought of that and it seems so simple and right there that i now feel stupid for not thinking of it

Well unfortunately it's one of those things where really knowing the difference would require measurements of the intake air temp before and after the mod, which I haven't the tools to do, and i can't really get a baseline reading before the mod since it's already done.
All i can say is it's running great with good power. I imagine the heat tape will help the intake air temperatures a lot since it's right above the manifold. The manifold design should also help to suck a lot of the heat out of the engine bay. The idea for the heat tape came from another member's build thread (Boostwerks I believe - not sure if his build thread is on here, or just NAXJA), and since i was going to have the manifold off and clean, and the tape was relatively cheap, so it seemed like a no-brainer.

I dunno i wish i knew how to post a clip after i did my new exhaust work, definitely not like anything else
I dunno guys. Cracked exhaust manifold, crappy DIY exhaust welds, 2.5" straight pipes, a clogged cat, and a couple of missing cylinders sounds like hell on steroids!

took a quick cold start/idle video for you with a ****ty camera. Sounds a bit airy at the moment since i knocked my tailpipe off the muffler this past weekend on the obstacle course at Jeep Week and lost all the sealant lol. Still sounds good i guess. I need a go-pro or something to get in-motion video

SO this past weekend was Ocean City Jeep Week. Had perfect weather for it. Didn't get too many photos though...we'll see if any pop up over the next week or so.
Pimping it at the show and shine
sitting in traffic to go on the woods trail
And this happened...took 2nd Place in the show Cherokee/Comanche group. 1st place went to a super clean WJ (I question why they were in the same class...but whatever). Super pumped.
