Got the drivers pan welded in this past weekend. Still have to seal the edges and prime/undercoat.

This is the damage on the drivers side:

One pile of crap later....

I was left with this. A bit better than the passenger side, but not by much.

I'll take some pictures once i get the welds ground down and the edges sealed up. Trying to get it all done before this weekend's outing.

really...not bad. The floor pans are thick enough to block a lot of sound (remember i was rolling with JUST carpet before, no metal ). The heavy build chassis paint and undercoating helped some, and i expect the sound deadening sheets and bedliner to really reduce it further.

Ugh... Makes me dread doing the rest of my floors... So far most of my rust is surface, but there are definitely holes to contend with. Good progress man, as always thanks for posting all the info.

Managed to break my jeep last weekend at Rausch - sheared the passenger side motor mount off the block coming up the hill by crawler ridge. So that was awesome - ratchet strapped the engine up to limp it off the trail, got one of the bolts out in the parking lot and put one in from the other side top get me home. All is good now.

Here's me drilling the bolt while a ratchet strap holds my engine up

Fun times

Wow, just read through the whole thread. I am really inspired and plan on taking my time and building my first with patience. I've taken notes and am starting piece by piece.

Also noticed NY plates in the beginning. I'm down in the city. Any way to link up with other similar-minded people around here??

Time for a wiring upgrade! Ordered a harness and relays from eAutoworks.com. Difference was (literally) night and day. Never new my headlights were supposed to be that bright!

Also installed a set of 1.5" wheel spacers I picked up from a guy on JeepForum - Love the stance!

You can see the yellow wiring harness and the spaced out wheels in this picture:

Hey man love your build, kudos for your incredible progress. When you installed your 1.5" wheel spacers did you get longer rear wheel studs?

Just curious bcuz I attempted this on my 2000 and it fit fine on my front but my 8.25 has like .75" of space on the studs for mounting and I didnt feel safe attaching to that little amount of room, even with a torque wrench to spec.

Thanks

No same length studs. They're long enough
